I rooted PAS when they won the KT by-election, and now they are protesting for the Rihanna’s concert over the Palestinian cause.

Federal Territory PAS Youth chief, Kamaruzaman Mohamed, said that the concert “does not match with the local culture” and having Rihanna in Malaysia is a “disgrace to Asian culture”
In a statement today, Kamaruzaman said that Israel’s ally, the United States, is funded by its public and this includes Rihanna who is currently living in California.
It can be considered as supporting Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza, he added.
“It doesn’t matter if Rihanna is involved in the issue, but to us (PAS), she is an agent of polluting young peoples’ minds around the world through her songs.”
Kamaruzaman reiterated that PAS youth wing will consistently protest against concerts that does not portray the positive Asian culture and which might create social problems in the country.

The PAS Youth is either plain ignorant, or narrow-minded. What does she as an entertainer got to do with the Gaza bombing when she is not even an American citizen. Agent of polluting young minds my ass lah. Not everyone have to follow the way you live your life, you know? If you protest every single concert that was supposed to be held in Malaysia, then what does the Malaysia, Truly Asia portrays? Positive Asian culture does not simply protest, protest and protest. Niamah. I am so damn irritated. I suggest those PAS Youth if they are so free enough, they might as well go protest and campaign against the rampaging mat rempit. Get a life, man!
As said many times before, PAS do have good people with sane and sound minds but then they do have some cuckoos as well. At least the call for the ban did not come from the top.
The ban call came from their Pas young turks who still cant differentiate left and right.
But it is good that now we know which pas branches have nuts as their leader.
I do have a burning question for them, why none of them protested when Malaysia flew out a representative to attend President Obama’s inauguration.

for certain reasons i do think that PAS are narrow minded. Won’t they just be open to accept the differences in the world and just avoid the really, I mean REALLY SERIOUS matter only. Just a concert, if this continues, i think no famous singer would like to open a concert at this country.

1) Yes, Rihanna does pay America taxes. But what does one person’s tax got to do with killing of innocent people around the world.
2) You have to know, Israel won’t just suddenly think “Oh, I feel like bombing Malaysia today. Let’s do it”. If you assume this may happen, you’re simply too naive. Israel is in a war with Palestine, not us.
3) Just because America is developing weapons, you have to know that they’re not going to use it on innocent citizens. As I have said before, every action must have a reason.
4) You and your pro-PAS philosophy is just plain silly. Surprisingly your blog says you have been working with a lot of organizations. And remember, PAS is trying to implement hudud law in Malaysia. Ring a bell?

1. I understand that that this proposal of protest comes from the Youth wing of PAS and not top PAS leadership themselves.
2. I believe in such democratic institution, a protest seems a norm in practically every institutions, but this one seems to show how narrow-minded they are.
3. PAS might be a conservative Islamic political party, but lest we forget that the call of ‘PAS for all – non muslims alike’ comes from your very own leader’s mouth.
4. By implying that the tax paid to the US government be used to ship weapons to Israel is a very stereotype view. Well, we all know the reason why US ships weapon to Israel, right? *cough* George Soros *cough*

I call myself a social activist to some certain extent and not that I’m against any protest of any sort. Its just that I find there are better things that the PAS Youth should address, mat rempit for instance. They are the nuisance in the roads, not to mention they are putting their own lives and others at risk.
Yes, I would agree that this country would be a better place to live in if the UMNO-led BN government allowed all this kind of peaceful protest and freedom of expression. Perhaps they would still retain their two-thirds majority. Haha.

I have been politely replying to you and I do acknowledge your differences in your view, and yet such rude reply? What do you understand? Like I’ve said, ‘tepuk sebelah tangan tidak akan berbunyi’ – the war won’t start with one side. Regardless of who started the war, as long as the other camp take an offensive stand, the war will just commence.
5. I’ve nothing against hudud. If you say that hudud will not a single bit affect the non-Muslims, what if for instance there is a crime where both Muslims and non-Muslims are involved i.e. when a non-Muslims and a Muslim is committing an adultery in which under hudud is an offence which the punishment is stoned to death. So, which one will the non-Muslim be faced upon? The Syariah or the Civil court? This is often a problem which I believe WILL AFFECT EVERY SINGLE MALAYSIANS.
If you think hudud can be implemented, then why not some Christians (although the minority) debate about the theocratic state that only applies to the Christians. Will you agree too? I doubt that. Again, secularism itself is already a COMPROMISE, by all parties involved not to do the holier than thou when it comes to which religion ought to be the holiest in the land.
Now let me mirror back your arguments by asking: Whats the problem with secular law? If there is SO MUCH problem about it, do you think it can maintain the peace and order for the past 52 years since independence?

I’ve participated in many forums in which PAS, hudud and the Gaza conflict are among the topics we discussed. I do not dismiss the fact that the non-Muslims have actually agreed upon hudud, in fact I think it is a very small portion, again, I do not stereotype, as much as you do.
I’m not being narrow minded, I’ve clearly stated my stand and asked a few questions in which you have failed to answer. Won’t you feel shameful avoiding it from an 18-year-old (assuming from your earlier post that you think age is a factor in politics)?

Are you aware that we are underaged? So that’s why our entertainment revolves around games, music, fashion and a few others. Since most of us can’t go overseas to go for a concert, so a singer who happens to be so popular worldwide decides to have a concert in our beloved country would be great for us. Frankly speaking, I’m 17 and I HAVEN’T, I repeat, HAVEN’T went for a concert before in my entire life. Long story short, protesting a concert isn’t healthy to us teenagers, the so called “remaja aset negara”. We are so sad when Avril’s concert was almost cancelled. Get what I mean? THINK OF OTHERS. DON’T BE SELFISH AND INDIVIDUALISTIC.
