This happened to be the 3rd time I’ve attended the Co Curriculum Night (also dubbed the KK Night). Its basically an event in which is organized every year by the Co-Curriculum Department. Every uniform unit will generally be the main host of the event, whereby 4 other clubs or societies would take part as a co-organizer. This year’s KK night was hosted by the PKBM (Persatuan Kadet Bersatu Malaysia), and their theme of the night, 1 Malaysia.
Well, you see. The racial demographics isn’t exactly healthy in PKBM. Generally, PKBM would be dominated by the Malays, meanwhile Red Crescent, Scouts and Marching Band dominated by the non-Malays. Well, to have the 1 Malaysia theme is a baby step forward to forge unity amongst the racial tolerances in the school, but then at the same time, it happens to be very dividing in the sense that the games that they played. They often called for Malay, Chinese and Indian representatives to play their respective games – just to relate to the theme of 1 Malaysia.
Nonetheless, the food there was mediocre to say the least, their decorations was plain. However, their effort in hosting this event should be commendable considering that the turnout was quite high. I think it must be due to the fact that the previous KK nights was brilliantly hosted (by RC and the Band), so they expected more or less the same or even better, but it turn out to be disastrous (okay, maybe I exaggerated a little).
Disappointed upon hearing rumours that the English Debate Society lost in the Best Noticeboard Display, our clique went over to Soho to have a drink there when Krystle and Wei Sheng joined us right after our dinner. Hanging out around there until Lin Hin and James made a move, then Joon Hean, Chooi Pheng, Krystle, Wei Sheng and I, the 5 of us went to Segafredo yet again for a drink. Sat there playing cards, talked nonsense. Well, I suppose thats the best we could do, aye?
